A knight in Shining Armour

coloured pencil
A sketch from my Sicilian sketch book.  This young man was found hanging around on an outside wall of a local villa!   A wall plaque made from marble and stone, according to the history he is an 'ancestor', but nameless, so I called him Ferdinando.   I drew this one from a photo I took just as the sun was getting low, and shadows and patches of light were dancing over the wall.

Oh Ferdinando, immortilised in marble and so pensive and sad. I love your pastel hues on this - perfect!

I am sure he's happy to be found if he knew he's going to be drawn so beautifully ^^ Awesome job yet again

I like how you got the sun light dancing over the statue and wall, very nice work

This is beautiful! I was surprised to see in the tag that you used colored pencil rather than watercolor because the colors are so soft and blended.
