Hammer and Nail

Every Day Matters 273 - draw a selection of tools.
I had a good look round and I found this old hammer that was inherited with the house.  It's very basic, just a lump of wood and the rusty top part held together with a nail, nothing posh here!  I've always fancied drawing some rust.  I love anything old and used,  loads more character than something new.
Sketched in pen and coloured pencil.

Oh this really appeals to me. Not only to do I also love old and worn out things but I'm married to a woodworker whose creed in life is 'he who dies with the most tools wins'. LOL.

Fabulous!

You really captured the rust and the character of this tool. I too love old, used things- so interesting. Good work!

Lovely - really well done, and so much more interesting than a new tool.

This is every mechanical engineer's favorite tool! =)
I love the way it's colored, I love the rust, I love the fine details done with pen, there's a lot of subtle brilliance in this one that makes it irresistable

Really nice. I think it's neat you drew something so old and forgotten.

I like your hammer too. I will be checking in from time to time. I love Sicily and I think it's great that you are immortalizing scenes with your pencils.

Please forgive me if I comment twice (trying to learn this OpenID thing). I really like your blog and look forward to reading about your adventures in Sicily. I have spent a couple of weeks there and I can see you've caught the spirit of the place.
