Suspend - Illustration Friday

I hung this pear on a bit of hand- made string and painted it...then I ate it!
(The pear not the string)

The pear looks polished and delicious; the twine looks rough. Beautifully done and great illustration of the concept. Love the colors on the pear and the fine detail on the string.

Beautifully done and cute idea to use the word this week. It reminds me of the children's party game where you tie powdered donuts on strings and the kids must eat them with no hands. It makes a fun powdery mess and would have been a fun way to illo the topic had I thought of it earlier!

Beautiful pear! And wow, amazing job on the frayed string. I'm not sure why one would hang a pear, other than to draw it - perhaps to tempt some cute wildlife into the yard?

Cathy...This is such an inspired idea!!! It's such an unexpected twist on the classic pear still life. I can't decide if it's whimsical or a tad macabre, which is what makes it fascinating. Love, love, love it!
