The pear looks polished and delicious; the twine looks rough. Beautifully done and great illustration of the concept. Love the colors on the pear and the fine detail on the string.
Beautifully done and cute idea to use the word this week. It reminds me of the children's party game where you tie powdered donuts on strings and the kids must eat them with no hands. It makes a fun powdery mess and would have been a fun way to illo the topic had I thought of it earlier!
Beautiful pear! And wow, amazing job on the frayed string. I'm not sure why one would hang a pear, other than to draw it - perhaps to tempt some cute wildlife into the yard?
Cathy...This is such an inspired idea!!! It's such an unexpected twist on the classic pear still life. I can't decide if it's whimsical or a tad macabre, which is what makes it fascinating. Love, love, love it!
Hello Cathy. Yes this is beautifully painted - both the pear and the string. Now all I can think about is pears...must have a pear...must have a pear....must have a... Stew. stewcrowther.wordpress.com _________________________

I love the detail of the fraying on the string (obviously I have an affinity with frayed things!!)
Great work Cathy, and fantastic idea. I hope the heat is not too bad, I know what you mean
I agree with a lot of people the fraying string is amazing! Very cool all around.
