Seagulls and Sunset

I had two attempts at this little sketch with an idea of making a bigger painting in watercolour.
The bottom one is the first one (blame Blogger not me!) and I used less colour/more water.  The one above is slightly more defined.  I was trying to get the rocks the right colour and intensity so the seagulls suffered and came out wobbly.

I love this Cathy and think it would make a really nice larger painting. I love the rocks in the top one and the birds in the bottom one.

I must say your art is always a delight to see,

xoxo

Yes...it would be fantastic to be able to see it if you do a bigger version. I think it would work really well.

This will make a great painting - the simple shapes and restricted palette really gives it presence!

Love love the feel of both of these. They both have really strong qualities to them. I love the looseness in the bottom one. It feels very fresh.

Interesting. I like them both for different reasons.

I'm with Vicki - I love the birds in the bottom one and I love the contrast and added intensity to the colors in the bottom one. They're both lovely in their own way! nancy
