Just Two Sketches

This month has been hectic, busy and very very hot!   I haven't been able to sketch very much, just a lonely onion and some trees in the woods at Ficuzza, sketched in the shade late afternoon.

I don't think it's going to get any cooler so any sketching will have to be done in the early morning or late afternoon.  I really don't like the heat, perhaps I should have a chosen a different country to live in!

I love these loose rapid sketches. This spontaneity is one of my favorite things in art, and these really do it for me!

I thought I left a message for this post! If you are going to do only two sketches, you may as well do these since they are mighty good. The trees look in search of a story book. I like the shapes and the way they become less detailed and darker as they recede.

Beautiful...even in the heat! I always love a red onion sketch...they're such an elegant vegetable, if that's possible!
