On the school run

Sketch in coloured pencil

My second page of my new sketch book.  This is 'Villa San Cataldo', built originally at the beginning of the 17th century, but reconstructed in the 19th century.  It's now publicly owned and  houses the local art college, which just happens to be my daughter's school.  I always try to park somewhere that has a good view and sketch while I wait for my daughter, I then put the colour in at home.  It looks peaceful  enough, but if you could only hear the racket from the road behind me..cars, horns, and radios.  There are another two
schools in the immediate area!

possibly one of the best ways to kill the time while waiting for children to get off school :)
Really nice shadings and I totally love the way you mix the colors, greens and blues are awesome together!

Oh it looks so warm, sunny and tranquil. We have more snow here and it's been dark and gloomy. Please would you adopt me?

Lovely work, Cathy. Do you sketch in pen or pencil - I can't decide.

What a truly lovely little drawing! I have so much trouble with architecture and I really admire people who can do it. You're right - it does look very peaceful. nancy

I could only hope to do as well. I don't hear the noise.

And there I was feeling envious until I read that second to last sentence. lovely drawing - I like the impression of warm sunlight - that comes across really strongly.
