'The hours seem short'

I am busily working away at several paintings, one quite large (for me), here is a little sneek peek although there's still quite a bit of work to be done.  I'm not a fast painter, I enjoy the process too much!

Then there are a couple of sketches in my sketchbook that I photographed so they're a bit grey.
The first is one overlooking the River Avon from my recent trip to the UK, just behind the Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford.

This tree is at the front of the theatre.

This is a little sketch of seagulls on the barrier of rocks created to protect the seafront.  I often wonder how birds decide who sits where...and what the pecking order is?

Looking forward to see the rest of the painting, so far looking good! Love the sketches too! I don't know how birds do that either, now I think of it.

I love everything in this post. The cactuses are wonderfully varied and interesting. How large is the page? (Just curious). Really cool quick sketch. I've never seen such a neat decoration to a tree. Finally, great sea gull sketch - crisp and fun!

Love the greens and purples, and the radical verticality!

Thank you Dan, the cactus painting is in oil, this is the middle section of a 50 x 60 cms canvas.

I like the creative composition of the cactii piece, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the other one completed! Also, that little seagull sketch is really precious, Cathy. There is something special about seagulls on rocks, to me.
