Little Blue Jar Number 2

Oil  24x18cms

This is the second time that my little blue jar has made an appearance in a painting, could this be a new series?
If you want to see 'little blue jar n° 1' it's here

This is a joy to look at - the orange is so vivid, and the way you've captured the light; and I love the blue jar, even more this time I think!

Wonderfully luminous painting!

Oh my word, Cathy! Those colours just sing together. Absolutely beautiful. Yes, yes, yes, to a series. Your blue jars are gems.

These two complimentary colours look wonderful together. Glass is so hard to paint, you have done a really good job here.

Beautiful, totally love the contrast between the orange and the blue, but also the contrast with the textures that you were able to create so well (skin of the orange and the smoothness of the glass).

Stunning painting!

Who knew you were so accomplished in oil as well as in watercolor? This is fantastic--the shadows especially. Nice work.

I can see a heart in the jar

Yes I can see the heart too...obviously I did it on purpose ;)

Thanks for the comments, I painted in oils in my twenties and went back to them when I joined a local art group a few years ago.

Well I can understand why! What a cute jar! Beautifully painted, but what really strikes me is the composition - it's a masterstroke putting the orange with the jar. I love it!

Dear Cathy, you've made a great work with light: the dark shadow against the white surface gives a strong effect, very powerful, and the colours are beautiful as usual.

Lovely still life Cathy, orange and blue, one of my favourites too
