Freshly Squeezed

.

I hung this strawberry on my favourite piece of handmade string, but I had to pant it over a couple of days due to lack of time.  The poor strawberry was looking very manky towards the end of it's ordeal so I added some squidgy drips at the last minute.

I didn't eat the strawberry.

I'm not sure what I admire most. The fabulous painting skill or the wacky imagination to think of adding a strawberry to a bit of string. Very "random" as the youngsters say these days. lol :-)

I'm not sure I would have eaten it either, but it makes a wonderful painting!

This is a glorious painting, as ever. How DO you get that string like that? and your fruit are always alive - as someone else said, I can smell the strawberry juice all the way from Sicily.

So excellent! Beautiful berry, a string I could grab. Love the manky drip too to remind us this isn't realism, it is art!

You did a great job on the strawberry. I once almost had a nervous breakdown painting strawberries trying to show they are both round and have side panels as well. You made painting this difficult subject look quite easy.

Beth said that she loves the idea and the execution. It does sort of look like you executed the sorry strawberry! Made me giggle. Wonderful painting.
