Pebbles on the Beach

60x50cms, oil on canvas

This the first painting in a series I'm doing on a sea/beach theme for a future exhibition.  I really enjoyed painting this one it just seemed to flow of my brush and I can't wait to get onto the next one.
I'm not sure about the title, perhaps something more original would be better?

I love this! I am so drawn to those found still lifes in nature. You painted this beautifully! As for titles, I'm no good with that either :-)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! I reminds me of the few times I get to visit my sister in California. Beautiful colors! Will you be posting more as you complete your exhibition?

Great colors! Very nice painting! I was just talking on my blog this morning about wanting to go to the ocean, looking at your painting makes me feel a bit closer!

And I like your new header, lovely soft colours. All the best for the upcoming exhibition.

Wow this is gorgeous. You're not just a watercolour genius, but reveal an oil on canvas talent too! Awesome.
About that title: I don't see why you would need anything more original. Because the painting speaks for itself already.

Remarkable colours. Really beautiful and I like your previous urban sketches.
Happy Painting.

Really nice, Cathy--you caught both the wetness and the touch of light on them, neither of which is easy, and the relative sizes and layout is interesting too. Bravo!

I love this. The colors are gorgeous, and I love the "natural" abstractness of it!

Wow - this is a great beginning for a series! Love the composition, and the colors, the shine, and the smooth rock texture - I could just pick one up and rub it! I think your title can be a little better if you just truncate it a bit: "Pebble Beach"

Thanks Dan, I like the idea!

This just beautiful. I wouldn't have guessed it was oil paint, as one usually sees more of an impressionistic oil painting these days. The colors are so luminous and the detail is exquisite.
