Holding On

This small oak tree looked as if it had a mishap, some kind of landslide had left it hanging onto a mound of earth.  You have to admire it's tenacity in continuing to grow no matter what!

You've given both trees new life, Cathy. I love the pattern of the roots, but sad they've been unearthed!

I really like how you were able to draw the tangle of branches and I love the green foliage. What colors of green paint did you use?

Thanks for the comments!
Barbara - I used Maimeri Sap Green, yellow green, and little bit of paynes grey for the darker bits.

This is so beautiful - love the illusion of light and shadow, and the coarseness and colors of the trees. This is absolutely fabulous.
