Sketchbook Time

Just a few quick sketches this week spread out over three sketchbooks (I like variety!) The above  lemon tree in a pot isn't actually a lemon tree...I added the lemons to make it more interesting.

Sketched from my car while waiting for my son to finish football, this is the back end of a nearby village.

Here I messed up the main thistle but the quick ones I did without thinking too much came out better.
Perhaps I should stop thinking?

Love your quick watercolors - especially the village from this week.

Some good stuff here! The perspective of the village scene and the really thorny look of the thistles - excellent.

Hello Cathy,
These are all wonderful but you know what? I think I like the the last one - the thistle the best. It's so beautifully done.
Perfect!

Yes, to stop thinking sometimes helps! But that's so hard to do! Great watercolours!

These are lovely sketches from your week! The thistles are just beautiful, but I do know what you mean. So hard to think about not thinking :-)

I enjoyed strolling through your recent posts - catching up. I love the artichoke and the portrait of your daughter is amazing! Beautiful watercolor sketches also. So I'm not the only one sketching in the car while waiting during their child's activity!

I love your quick watercolor sketches. You do extremely good finished work, yet you can do these quick ones, and still convey so much. Very well done on all of them!
