Shades

Shades - for Illustration Friday
This is a portrait of my daughter from last year which I put away and forgot. Originally it was a sketch for the 2011 Sketchbook Project, but I liked the reflection in the sunglasses and decided to make a bigger version.  I still like the sunglasses and the hair,  but I'm not sure about the rest of it!
It's on a yellow/sand coloured paper in coloured pencil, 35 x 28 cms approx.

Very nice! Your daughter should be proud. Can't wait to see what else you've been squirreling away!

I thought it was the model from the Pepsi ad & didn't realise it was your beautiful daughter.

What a beautiful portrait Cathy. That's how I always hope my portraits will turn out - alas, they never do.
I like everything about it.
Superb.

OMG Cathy! This is wonderful. I was drawn to the reflection and love the hair but the face is soft and lovely as well. Most excellent!
