Missing

Watercolour sketch

This is a sketch of my big ginger cat that I started in the autumn and didn't finish.
It is now one week that he hasn't come for food and I'm getting worried.  He was last seen drinking some milk on next-doors's front step, I can only think he's wandered off looking for a girlfriend.
If you see him please tell him to come home!

I hope he's home soon, if only for you to finish this lovely painting... & of course because you miss him.

Hello Cathy,
Wonderful painting.
I too have had cats that have gone walkabout for very long periods of time (one was months). I hope he comes home soon.
I'm gathering all these great portraits of me into one group. No need to join the group (please don't) - just click OK to add it.
Thank you!

The sketch is lovely, there' so much light and with great simplicity you have rendered so well the ginger fur of the cat! I hope he'll come back home soon! :-)

I hope your beautiful ginger cat has sauntered back home by now, looking mysterious and having you guessing where he's been.

He's not back yet, but I haven't given up hope.
Thanks for the comments!

I am so sorry - cat's are like that, he is probably around the corner. Beautiful portrayal - love the fur, the posture is great - looks like a mouse in his sights.

Hi Stew, No he hasn't come back, the weather is cold & wet here so perhaps he's been taken in by someone...he's very friendly.

Hi Cathy - I've still been having trouble commenting (alas your tip of previewing didn't work) but I have managed to resurrect my google id, which means I can now leave a commment!
I hope your cat has come home - although I gather cats are quite good at going off and getting others to 'adopt' them!!

Hi Cathy,
Your cat is probably getting fed somewhere local but I think he will come back in time.
@Anne - that is what I have had to do, use my Google account. Sounds like a lot of people are having the same problem.

I heard over and over that cats do that sometimes. Take take a little time off, go for a vacation and come back later. If your cat is an outside cat, he'll be back I am sure because he'd be able to take care of himself. My Oni didn't come back because he was a baby and he wasn't used to being outside. It's been a year and a half, and even after having Meela now(don't get me wrong, I love her to death and I don't want ever to be parted from her), I still miss my silly Oni.
It's a beautiful drawing, and hopefully he's back soon.

Alex - I thought about your Oni when my cat disappeared and how I hoped he would come back to you. Now my other ginger cat (they are called Fred & Ginger) has gone AWOL. I'm sure they're somewhere together and someone is feeding them. My tabby is still here but then I'm the only human being he trusts.
I haven't given up hope yet!

I love your watercolor of your kitty....I too home they return, safe and sound...I had a kitty show up on my doorstep, and stayed, one day he was there and injured, I had to take him to the vet, and after that ($300.00+) I deemed him *mine*....after about a month his real mom drove by and seen him in the window....stopped by, we exchanged stories, and she let me keep him, as he wandered away when they brought another cat into the house....he is an indoor kitty, and sitting in my lap as we speak....so to give you some hope, maybe someone took your kitty in....

Cathy, no kitties yet? So sorry to hear...maybe you'll be out walking one warmer day and come across them. I had a feral cat who grew up in my yard and one day just disappeared...I thought the worst (run over, coyote) but 10 years later I saw her again! She had apparently just relocated herself down the street, and when those people moved out and the new people had a dog, she came back to eat at my house. You never know...

No Kitties yet Melissa, but I'm sure you are right, I don't think something awful could have happened to both cats at different times. I'm waiting for them to pop back up!
