Twirl
Illustration Friday - The word this week is TWIRL, which brings into mind lots of lovely things including chocolate. I decided on the sails of a windmill twirling in the wind and this particular one is a windmill from Trapani saltpans.
Love this! I also enjoyed catching up here with your wonderful sketches. I would love to go there and see the lighthouse and the little colorful boats but your paintings make me feel like I am there!
Hello Cathy, This really is lovely. As Cindy has already said, the grass is fantastic. There is some deserted & derelict windmills on the island - I really should have a go at a sketch. Not quite as nice as yours though. Hate to tell you this but I found the last slice of Soreen but I thought I had better eat it before it went off. Stew.
P.S. Having trouble sending again so posting through Google.

Beautiful and delicate. I like the way the rough grasses contrast with the smooth building.
Great work Cathy, full of character and movement. Your treatment of the foreground is quite impressive.
I love that you chose a windmill. It's a very peaceful work. I love it.
Lovely windmill and lighthouse Cathy and great coffee image.....I agree the best way to start the day.
Thank you for the comments, I've tried to paint these windmills before, this time I thought I'd keep it simple.

Thank you Stew, I hope you save me some next time!
With so little elements you have created a perfect balance of lines and colours, letting us feel as we were there, just in front of that windmill...
I REALLY like this!!
