Sketchbook Pages

I've been having a few sketching afternoons while I wait for my son to finish his football training.  This is a rocky outcrop in the middle of the town with what looks like a watchtower on top.  It's a pretty good place for a watchtower as there are clear views all round, although I don't know anyone who has been up there.

There are views like this one, looking out over to one side of the town, I live in a valley behind the tree.

I'm sure this man sitting on a bench outside the town hall knew I was drawing him, he kept glancing my way then posing like a professional model!

I did this sketch at home, I picked a branch from a wild olive tree just outside the gate.  This is not far off the actual size of the 'fruit' which is like a large berry.

...and finally some Jasmine from my garden (not quite a yellow as my scanner thinks it is).

Hello Cathy,
Once again, you have some wonderful sketches.
I bet the man you sketched did know you were drawing him - I am sure he would have loved it. It is hard to sketch people without them knowing isn't it? Come to think of it...it's hard to sketch people.
Scanners...tisk...nothing ever seems to have anywhere near the detail of the original or the correct colours.
Another beautiful blog page Cathy.
Stew.

More excellence. Did you ever think that maybe he was a professional model? ;)

So many sketches, and they are all gorgeous! =) Love the scenes, they are so serene looking, and really like those Jasmine and Olive tree sketches... =) very detailed and realistic. They are just beautiful.
Meela's in the hospital, poor girl didn't know why I didn't feed her this morning, or if she did anything wrong. We're already missing her

Lovely sketches. My fav has to be the olive branch - so delicate, but I did smile at your description of your male model. LOL

Lovely little paintings! I smiled about the man posing for you too, and the olive branch is wonderful in its apparent simplicity. Nice, nice, nice :)

I love your work. I studied art in Italy but sadly I still draw like a third grader.

I love all of these - but my favourite is the olive branch. Such an elegant composition.
