A Garden Tool

Some garden twine that's almost finished.  I've been using this for several years to tie up plants and canes and I've often thought how pretty the shiny green looks in the sun.  So now's the time to immortalise it before it runs out...a very useful  garden tool indeed!

This is one I made earlier...I'm posting from the library in the UK!  Yesterday I went to see the UKCPS London exhibition, I took lots of photos but will have to share them when I get back next week.  The standard of work in the exhibition was very good, I recommend seeing the exhibition if you can.

love your sketch. Our gardens are melting into fall. Soon to be buried under mounds of snow. Last year was WAY too much snow for me! Enjoying the colored leaves then hunkering down!

You're right the shiny green is lovely.

I'm new at gardening and didn't realize this stuff existed! I used some twine that I had in the garage for years, and mid-season it rotted and broke and now my green beans are all over the ground! Wonderful sketch and thanks for the intro to this useful tool!

That is a really great sketch - I love it!
And yes, it does count as a garden tool.
How long are you in England for? Mind you, you may be back home before you get to read this.

That must mean the twine is even more gone by now! It looks so real here.

Thank you for all the lovely comments... Lynn - the UKCPS is open to all pencil artists although most are from the UK.

This is the kind of thing I love most about drawing--the simplest and commonest things are brought to our attention.

Gorgeous colors Cathy =) I remember my mom having these when she was into gardening, now she's just into babysitting my sister's kids hahahaha.
