Duet

Duet - Illustration Friday
Sounds of the summer.... grasshoppers outside the window trilling together on a warm night.
Trilling - the technique of singing several pitches on one beat.  (Trillare is the Italian verb and what a lovely word it is!)

So adorable! (I'm one of those ppl that thinks bugs are really cute).

All your shades of green look very springlike, too.

You've made the little buggers look so sweet and innocent! Not at all like the ones that eat my roses down to a nub :-) GREAT SKETCH!!!

I've always loved green =) and this one totally makes me happy for some reason. You know something Cathy, I just watched PONYO, and I realized how much your artwork is so similar to those in the movie

Oh these are so cute. Much cuter than the ones who eat up my rose bush!

Cathy, you're really on a roll with these IF subjects. I like the way you think outside of the box. Perfect!

My sister used to live in Philadelphia and her window faced a busy street. She said our grasshoppers were actually louder to her than the traffic!

Lovely page and a unique idea!

The greens and shading are so nicely done, and so evocative of Spring!

Lovely illo! :) The grasshoppers don't make that much music in my part of the world, but sometimes the field crickets perform a song or two.

Oh, these are wonderful!! I don't see many grasshoppers where I live in California, but loved them as a kid back in Indiana. Really charming piece.

We found a grass hopper in Italy with one leg. But before we were able to pity him (or her) it hopes away with a huge leap.
Nice illustration. They fact that they study us, while we are looking at your illo...very nice.

Great colors here! The sounds of grashoppers can be a duet or a symphony.
