Duet
Duet - Illustration Friday
Sounds of the summer.... grasshoppers outside the window trilling together on a warm night.
Trilling - the technique of singing several pitches on one beat. (Trillare is the Italian verb and what a lovely word it is!)
I've always loved green =) and this one totally makes me happy for some reason. You know something Cathy, I just watched PONYO, and I realized how much your artwork is so similar to those in the movie
We found a grass hopper in Italy with one leg. But before we were able to pity him (or her) it hopes away with a huge leap. Nice illustration. They fact that they study us, while we are looking at your illo...very nice. Paula

I love this! They look so happy and cheerful! nancy
Nice duet!
Good idea and a fantastic sketch that gives the impression we are level with these little guys !
Love your bugs!!! Did you find them up close and personal? Great composition.
Love this...so fresh!!
Lovely Cathy, waiting for the weather to warm up and those lovely sounds
So adorable! (I'm one of those ppl that thinks bugs are really cute).
All your shades of green look very springlike, too.
You've made the little buggers look so sweet and innocent! Not at all like the ones that eat my roses down to a nub :-) GREAT SKETCH!!!
These little creatures have great expressions. They are colorful and cute.
So lovely! (Never thought I'd say that about grasshoppers!)

Oh these are so cute. Much cuter than the ones who eat up my rose bush!
I love these guys! And your title is so perfect. What a cheerful, fresh composition. Very nice!
They are so cute! Yay summer! I could use some warmth and sunshine!
Beautiful! I love the angle of the drawing.
Nice composition.
Cathy, you're really on a roll with these IF subjects. I like the way you think outside of the box. Perfect!
My sister used to live in Philadelphia and her window faced a busy street. She said our grasshoppers were actually louder to her than the traffic!
Lovely page and a unique idea!
The greens and shading are so nicely done, and so evocative of Spring!
I love hearing grasshoppers when we are abroad on holiday!!
Lovely illo! :) The grasshoppers don't make that much music in my part of the world, but sometimes the field crickets perform a song or two.
Delightful interpretation and execution, Cathy! (And thanks for your appreciation of my own "duet" art...
Best wishes, Susan
Lovely colors in those grasshoppers! What´s illustration friday by the way??
So fabulous! I love the greens and their respective positions. Fantastic work!
Oh, these are wonderful!! I don't see many grasshoppers where I live in California, but loved them as a kid back in Indiana. Really charming piece.

Great colors here! The sounds of grashoppers can be a duet or a symphony.
