If you remember I made quite a few bookmarks as Christmas presents this year. They were fun to make and let me play a little with colour and designs. I had a couple left over and I thought I would let someone have them as a present from me. The finished product comes with a ribbon threaded through the hole so that you can mark your place in your book, or just use them simply as a greetings card.
All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of this post and I will use a random number generator to select a winner. You have until January 15th to comment and then I will announce the winner on January 16th!

Give away or not, they are beautiful... I always liked small pieces of art, makes it more interesting and you see more of the little details. My favourite is the one on the right. A give away is a fun idea, something I thought about doing my self in my blog, but didn't know how to really go about it (is this your first give away?).
Happy New Years!!!
I found your blog yesterday and admired your bookmarks! I immediately added a link to your blog on my own Dutch blog and today I read about your give away. I'd love to participate!
Beautiful bookmarks Cathy, what kind of paper did you do them on? I never win anything!
Lovely work Cathy. Great idea for christmas gifts. You have inspired me to start using watercolour and colour pencils together. Thank you and happy new year to you.
Cathy,
These are lovely and you know I'd love to have them.
xoxo
OOOOH! Love these...what artsy fun...please count me in! :)
Your bookmarks are lovely and one would look terrific between the pages of a book in the pile I intend to read in 2011. Thank you for the chance to win some of your artwork. You are very generous!
Oooh, a give away! :)
These are lovely! I think I wouldn't dare use them in a book I put in my bag because I'd be too afraid to damage them. But there's this pile of books at my bedside table which would be very happy to be honored with a real bookmark instead of tramway tickets and strips of paper tissues... ;)
Debra - The bookmarks are on canson Aquarelle watercolour paper whaic is quite thick and heavy.
...and yes this is the first time I've tried anything like this!
Cathy, your book marks are lovely. I'd like to take a minute to thank you for taking time to make frequent posts of your work. They've been a bright spot in my day and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them in the coming year.
Whatever the result of the giveaway , I love your work and your bookmarks are another proof of your talent !!
Beautiful Cathy. Love the Ivy one best, great detail and colours.
Very nice!!! I really need some bookmarks. I've been using a post-it note, so I should go to the top of the list!!! LOL! Happy New Year!

Should I be randomly generated as a winner, know that it would be frequently used, as I always have a book on hand :)
Well I am an avid reader so I would love an original book mark from you with your work on it! Thank you for the opportunity :-)
I have two new books that are just begging for bookmarks. None of mine are as pretty as these two. So put my name in the pool, hope I win!

I love these, the ivy one is just beautiful. I was going to say that I would love bookmark but, I know that I would never use these for that, LOL. I have an art board on my wall and there must be several bookmarks on it....but, they look great :-)
Beautiful bookmarks! Happy New Year!
What a kind offer - I would love to have your bookmarks. I like to do small paintings on scraps of left-over paper - hate waste!
I also love your work and am always inspired by it. I think these bookmarks are lovely, just thinking you could copy them as prints and sell them, Im sure they would go but love the idea of a giveaway and keep thinking I should do one at some stage.
They're beautiful, Cathy! I'd love to do that exchange with you, so maybe I shouldn't be in this? I'll let you decide!

Dear Cathy,
Lovely bookmarks. And what a fun way to bring all the lurkers out into the open. Like others I always have a pile of books that I'm reading so if I win they will be put to good use.

These are gorgeous. I love the different format and the non-traditional feel of art on a bookmark, or any small format. It makes one feel free to experiment, and do something different without risking too much time.
These are very pretty, and I'd be thrilled to win some of your original art!
What an honor to see up close, one of your bookmarks and then I would use it and often find inspriation anew....winna
Please add my name. I would be delighted to receive a piece of your artwork.
Just "found" your blog by coming here from VP/"Myrtle Street, Boston" on which I wrote: 'Like this closeup shot. Like the "cleanness" and "sparseness" of this. Just the right amount of everything. Colors are perfect!' Will spend some time on your blog now; add you to my list that I follow. Your work looks very inspiring and intriguing.
