More Faces, More Pages (Arthouse sketchbook project)

I'm having a lot of fun with my theme 'a face in the crowd' for the Arthouse sketchbook project, exploring different ways to depict faces and looking for them in the crowd.  I thought about someone looking at their reflection in a mirror and wondering if they were the face.

What about a face you can take apart and put back together?  Why not make it into a jigsaw puzzle?
My little sketchbook is a useful  thing for putting down all the random thoughts that come into my head, I shall be sorry when it's finished I'm sure!

Great drawings!
I realized that being given a theme is making us all become more creative with our art! I'm trying to think of 40 different ways to portray Jackets, blankets and sheets. You're trying to come up with 40 ways to portray faces in the crowd. Maybe when this project is finished we should have a monthly theme together and make everybody do ten pieces around that theme? Could we do that?

Sounds like a good idea to me Katherine, I like trying to think of how to portray something in a different way. Take it in turns to choose the theme?

Great work on the faces Cathy! How about one with all the different masks we wear day to day?

What is this? A gathering of the Katherines? Is that a theme?

Thanks for your comment Kate, yes I had thought of doing something involving a mask, yours is a good idea.

Love your sketches and paintings.

Your title appealed to me. The first blog I had was called "through a dusty lens" - but now it is Sandy's Walks Around town.

It's so interesting to see how the themes of the sketchbook project have been interpreted and how they progress. REally enjoying this one!

Two very interesting ways to do potraits, and I really like it when they are done this way and not always face forward. Beautiful work as always, my favourite must be the girl with a mirror (love her hair).

What is this monthly challenge?
