Scary Faces (Arthouse Sketchbook Project)

A couple more pages for the  Arthouse Sketchbook Project.  My theme is 'face in a crowd', so I did some scary faces for Halloween.  You never know what's hanging about in a crowd!?

I hope I didn't frighten you too much?   This bony face actually makes me smile everytime I see him.  I'm sure he's having a good laugh!

What a great idea! I especially like your skull and how you've shown it peeking into page.

Great faces, the top one is scary when you cant see the eyes (its like he is really keeping something back or he has deep, very deep thoughts).
Bone guy cracks me up, the way he is looking out around the corner.

Happy Halloween!!!

You've hit the mark there for points in scare. I really like the skull too and he looks pretty amusing at that angle going "Helloooo"

Fantastic Cathy. The bottom one made me smile too.

Great works, Cathy! I also find that the first face has something frightening due to the indefiniteness of its contours and the invisible eyes, while the second one is rather funny, looks like playing peekaboo from an abstract space outside your sketchbook! Your technique is fantastic as ever.

These are fun! The first one is definitely spooky, but the skeleton looks like he's having a blast!

I agree with lucia, the first one is quite menacing in a way whereas the second one made me smile. Excellent work, getting some feeling into spooks sounds easy but is diffciult methinks.

Fabulous faces - the skull is a bit like a (very silly) app that I got for my ipod ... it has rolling eyes and you can make its jaw move. Childish, but good fun!!
