Everyday matters - Something orange!
To go with the season I painted these lovely leaves. Normally I only use watercolour as an underpainting for coloured pencils but I enjoy looking at other people's watercolour paintings and wanted to try something in colourful in this medium. Definately some room for improvement and more practice needed I think. Then I just couldn't resist and had to put some coloured pencil on too and a few artistic splatters!
I can't decide which I like best

What a beautiful work! I like the second one, with the unusual combination of violet, pink and orange, these beautiful colours give a warm, pleasant feeling. I share with you the same restlessness in trying new effects and new media, I think it's one of the things that make art so entertaining!
I think they are both spectacularly beautiful!

They are both beautiful and can stand on their own merit. You've done a great job!
They're both beautiful, but I prefer the second one, because the colors work so well together. I love autumn, for the colors and the fantastic light!
Wow! Each drawing is super. More emphasis on the leaves vs a more complete composition. Tough call.
Both are gorgeous, but I like the second one the best. The background color just really pulls it all together and the leaves really do just pop on the colors you chose.

I love both but I think the second slightly more! Love your faces they are great.
I like them both - the first for its simplicity, the second for the added depth of colour.
They're both just beautiful! nancy
Why resist when what you do works so well. What a pretty "orange" picture.
Fantastic coloring!
Ooohhh, nice! The orange is really striking. I like the second one, splatters and all. The violet is almost complementary and makes the leaves pop. Nice work:)
Lovely drawings! I like both of them, the first one is more "pure", and I am a great watercolour fan. But the second one is really interesting with the complementary colourscheme which adds a lot of expression... hmmm... Well, both great :D
Gorgeous - so rich and vibrant. Love them both but the 2nd one is more punchy somehow. Lovely work, Cathy! x
both gorgeous!
I like them both! Very well done!
:-)
These are so pretty! Every time I see your work I want to take a day off from my "day job" and draw and paint all day long! I like the second one, but I'm partial to anything with purple! Very pretty!
