Return to the Sketchbook Project

Time to get back to the Sketchbook Project and my theme 'face in a crowd'.   I had a little break as I was well ahead with my pages (I aim to finish by Christmas hopefully!)

I'm still exploring the different types of faces and I've found  so many ideas I'm glad I chose this theme.
I'm also feeling a lot more comfortable about drawing faces, even doing a couple of portraits.
This isn't one of them!

The face lift is funny and I love the cropping on the top one - beautifully done!

These are great! Especially the first one. Did somebody model for you? I love the close up composition. Very good!

This will be a great sketchbook - Love the old face and laughed out loud at the Face Lift. Maybe this time I'll get over to Brooklyn and can see it in person!

I love these drawings and love how you have interpreted Face in a crowd. I have also entered the Sketchbook project and am doing jackets, blankets and sheets. I only received the book yesterday. Good luck

Beautiful Cathy...particularly love the old one!(and although I never used to see why I think I'm now in need of the last one)

Cathy,

I really like the older close-up one. You've really nailed it.

Three beautiful drawings, I like the way each of them has different characteristics: the first shows a psychological insight, the second is tender and colourful, the third is funny!

Love your faces. The cropped old one especially.

Amazing work. I really like faces(I think people could tell already) and the old face really has a lot of depth in it, and I absolutely am fond of that idea of face lifting ^^

Wonderful drawings and interpretation of the theme. When I saw that one on the list, I could only think of drawing strangers and staring at people - so I immediatley dismissed it. (I Chose The View From Up Here)

I look forward to your future postings

I love old faces - they're so much more interesting to draw than young ones. Your cropping of that one was a stroke of genius! The face lift is quite funny, and the child is really cute. nancy

Nice job on all of these. I like the old face the best but the humor of the face lift is a plus for the sketchbook. No one will know what to expect turning one page and another.
