I do like to draw trees and I couldn't resist this one. It's real and lives up in Scotland, Anne from
Frayed at the Edge took the original photograph and kindly let me use it as a reference. This tree looks like a person and even has little birds nesting in the holes. so it must be a kind tree! I am hoping to do something else with it, possibly bigger and in ink, this is in pen and coloured pencil.

Hi Cathy, this is FABULOUS!! Thank you for creating something so lovely from my photo. Love, Anne
Your tree is lovely!
I love this tree! Personality plus! Like something from a story book. I also love how well you portrayed all the twists and turns and used the splashes of color!
I could see why this is such an interesting subject, it's got something that draws people's attention to it.
It's so beautifully rendered, and I love the background as well! Your blog is constantly setting new heights ^^
Great. Liked the spooky form of it. Reminds me of an old tree close to my room when I was a little girl. It always haunted me with the shadows at night. This one, green, sketched, so normal, was a relief! :)
WOW! What a tree! And what a great job you did on it!
Super drawing.Such depth.
Fantastic--the colors, the depth, the "friendliness", the subtle background--everything!
This is really stunning, Cathy.
It really does look like it belongs in a story book. It's so interesting and curious. nancy
I love this tree! And the roots below too! Your colors are so lovely, and the tree just makes me happy when I look at it! Very nice!
You're really on a roll with these trees. I so love your soft and thoughtful style. Perfect! x
It does look like a person! Beautiful sketch.
