Sketchbook Sunday

Last Saturday was the 46° Urban sketchers sketch crawl, although it was absolutely pouring with rain a few keen sketchers turned out.  We originally planned to sketch outside but due to the terrible weather we took refuge in the Gallery of Modern art and sat on some steps to sketch the inner courtyard of the antique Palazzo St. Anna.
Most museums and galleries in Palermo are in historical buildings, this one used to be a convent and originally dates right back from 1480.
I managed three sketches  but the third was binned as the subject moved, well I'll paint over it anyway.

Here we are sitting on very cold steps but at least we were dry.

Hello Cathy.
Sounds and looks like you all still had a good time :-)
And the sketches are great!

That's a great photo on the steps... a group of avid artists in the museum! Your paintings are really beautiful. I like your style and the way your colors flow, making everything seem alive.

Even if it was cold, your sketch crawl looks like it was much warmer than the one I went too. You found a great place to sketch in and looks like a great group. Great sketches, but I really like the one with the umbrellas.

I'm glad you went through with the sketching, despite the weather. Great sketches to show for it.

Sketchcrawls sound fun. It needs to be comfortable and dry for me to venture out en plein air. Brave girl and lovely sketches.
