Moka

Oil on mdf wood board 20x20 cms/ 8"x8"

You'll find a moka coffee pot in most Italian homes.  It's comforting glugs and gurgles signal the start of  a new day....but coffee is always a good excuse to stop during the day or get together with a friend.
I love to sit in a bar with a capuccino and watch the world go by, especially if there's a warm croissant involved too!
Could you live without coffee? I know I couldn't !

This is wonderful! I love the colours in the pot and the fuzzed out text in the background too :0) I've just recently started enjoying the odd 'Espresso'... I used to hate it! Funny how our tastes evolve isn't it? A bit like our Art I suppose :0)

Cathy, I love the atmosphere in your paintings always. REally enjoy each new one as it comes. And they're very successful, in that they look like big paintings even though physically they're only a few square inches. Quite a feat of art, that.

Do you ever get into how you got to live where you do?

Beautiful painting Cathy. I really like how you've captured the atmosphere with your background. (hope that makes sense)

Everything about this piece is SO cool! I love the background, and the way you portrayed the shiny metal, AND even the folds in the fabric are so perfectly placed and well rendered. Wow, Cathy!

It glows! Evocative of coffee and breakfast and Italy…lovely.

And P.S. the tablecloth looks like a watercolor wash, it's so smooth.

Thanks for the memories of lovely sights, smells and sounds of Italian coffee times with family. Beautifully painted. Fab work on the metal finish.
