Out of Season

Not quite the right time of year for an autumn painting but this one had been waiting patiently to be finished for a while.
Sicily has warm weather right into October, the blue sky and early morning sun on autumn leaves in my garden were my inspiration.  It might be spring but autumn is still my favourite season!

It's beautiful! The rich colors and the deep shadows against the blue sky that one only sees in the autumn... yet you captured that perfect autumn-ness during the spring season. I wonder if you would have painted it differently at a different time of year? That would be interesting to try... to paint a series of seasonal pieces, created in the opposite season. Congratulations a great painting Cathy!

Hello Cathy. I saw this a while back when I was browsing through some of your fantastic posts but forgot to comment.
This is a beautiful painting with wonderful colours. I also like the complexity of the design.
You do some amazing Autumn paintings. I remember a few years ago a superb Autumn leaves painting which I loved.
Great work!
Stew.

You are right Stew, I did a big autumn picture years ago...it's on my wall. (You have a good memory!)
