Red Geranium

A  watercolour sketch of a red geranium from my garden.  These geraniums fill Italian balconies and terraces, they look after themselves and survive the hot summer...just what you need!

Gorgeous! Makes me yearn for summer to start (it's still cold here)!

I love this! It looks like it was quickly done, and yet it captures the shape of the blossom so perfectly! I'm jealous: I've been laboriously rendering a lace-cap hydrangea blossom and it doesn't have the vitality that this does. You've inspired me try a quick sketch instead!

I agree with Sarah--you captured this with nothing but shapes and shadows, and it screams geranium with very little specific detail. One of the wonders of watercolor, when you can master it, and you certainly have here. (Love the shadows in a hurry below as well!)

My mom grew these flowers. You captured them so simply. They have breath and life.

Gorgeous! Just what watercolor should be, bright and spontaneous. I love this kind of painting!

The colour is so vibrant - I love it.
Looks like I have missed loads being away for such a short time.
I hope your knee and camera are both better now Cathy.
