Playing with shadows

I'm still playing around with my people and their shadows.  I painted this one in watercolour onto damp paper just to see what would happen.  I painted details in when it was dry and this one is closer to the effect of the bright light I saw on the day.
The little girl seemed to be enjoying the shadows too, making shapes with her hand!

Brilliant!! Looks like the shadows are dancing together... a whole new story behind the people who are walking.
I sometimes forget how neat shadows can be during summer time, I love how the afternoon sun created shadows against the snow. Thanks for waking me up to the summer shadows : )

Lovely painting

Loving your shadow pictures - I think you are right to keep the background simple and give all the focus to the figures and their shadows. Bet they would be thrilled if they knew they are being immortalised on your pages!

Cool paintings of people and shadows. I'm curious to see the oil painting you'll make with all of them!
