Boundaries

For Illustration Friday - Boundaries

I took this literally and painted  a landscape boundary.  I love how stone walls and hedges criss cross over the countryside, dividing the land into portions.  They mark the boundaries of the farmer's land and the  boundaries for animals.

I like the way this leads the eye to the horizon. I wonder where it would take me? Nice work, Cathy. x

I shall be different and say it could be Scotland - lots of the fields here have stone walls! Lovely work!

It is definitely not Holland because Dutch farmers used hedgerows as boundaries for their small meadows. A landscape like a patchwork divided by these boundaries make charming paintings. Like yours.

love the colours of the stone against the fields, and the calm skies far back, looks very peaceful.

What a beautiful piece! Hedgerows and stone walls are so much more civilized that the all-too-common fence, aren't they?
