Dandelions growing between the pillars on the front of an old church. It looked as if the church hadn't been used for sometime as there were lots of weeds about, but I like the way a little bit of dandelion yellow peeked out. I had fun with the stone work although in real life it's not quite so crumbly!

Cathy, I love this piece - gee it is good. Thank you for posting it.
This is awesome! I love dandelions! I have actually been mentally working on a blog post all about dandelions. I'm glad to see that you find beauty in them too. Your work here is beautiful.
This little dandelion looks so pretty, peeking out from the crustiness of the columns . . . wonderful!!
Beautiful! Makes a wonderful statement about perseverance.
Dandelions are much maligned but I do admire their capacity for growing in any environment. This is a perfect little scene and it jumped out at me from the thumbnails!
It is just amazing how these little guys can get in the tiniest places. I really like your stone work.
I love your cracks in the stone, and the little dandelion peeking out!
I love the way the bright yellow of the dandelions jumps out. They might be weeds, but they're cheerful ones!
Also, congratulations, you're one of the winners of my postcard giveaway! You can send me address information at st.ursula (at) gmail.
I also love dandelions and let them grow in my lawn because they are beautiful
love your work : )
Thank you all for the comments especially St Ursula :)
(Lucky me!)
Joy,joy,joy!
Love the dandelion. I actually like these flowers even if they are considered a weed. Rather like pigeons, they keep surviving no matter what humankind throw at them! Your stonework looks nice too. It makes me think of ancient Roman temples.
Great composition and use of colour Cathy.
What a lovely little study, and you did a wonderful job with the pillars! I love dandelions when they're blooming, but not so much when they turn to seed and have those rubbery stems that the mower has trouble cutting! nancy
Great Cathy, love the stonework
What a great sketch - the stone work is super and I love that flash of yellow.
fantastic sketch as always.
I love it when nature fights back and crumbly walls just add to the whole scene. I very much like your snail works too...they are so amazing. Every shell is a piece of art on it's own :)
This is gorgeous. I love the contrast...the juxtaposition of organic matter against man-formed stone, the warm colors against the cool...it's all about contrast and the flowers are right in the Golden Mean area. Great Work!
Breathtakingly beautiful in all aspects from composition to color. And, beautifully described in words. Thanks for this treat, Katherine!
