Geranio

coloured pencil 29x40 cms

A warm spring day and the windows are wide open to let the sun and warmth inside.
Geraniums or Pelargoniums are a common sight here as they can always be grown in window box even in our hot, dry summers.  From a restaurant in the country near Trapani,  looking out over the Sicilian countryside.

You've captured the light coming in from the window beautifully. Thanks for sharing your sunny spot this morning!

Cathy - this is absolutely beautiful. It is a great composition and you created such depth. There is an exhibit at this moment - Room with a View - at the Met. you might enjoy seeing the paintings they selected.

Beautiful!
If this is the view from your window - I want to come and live with you :-)

And such rich lovely colours.
And the light...oh I could go on.

Makes me glad the world didn't end!

This is quite a triumph of color and atmosphere. I can almost smell the air! It's very beautifully done.

This is beautiful! The values are so correct that it looks like the light is shining into the painting. The colors are vivid, and it has such a soft welcome relax feel. So well done. I am amazed what can be done with colored pencil.

We have some geraniums in pots in the garden - but it will be some weeks yet until they flower.

"Enchanting" is the word I thought when I saw this. Wonderful quality of light and perfect red focal point. Love this!

Geraniums are quite popular in Ukraine, as well.

I had to click on this one for a closer look. You've managed to capture that contre-jour, translucent light coming through the leaves and petals so well, it's amazing! Congrats. x

Catching up with all your art and as always it is lovely but on a very wet day here in the UK, this one is a delight. Just lovely :)
