String of Onions

I bought a string of onions, it wasn't my intention to paint them.....but they were just too pretty not to.

I 've painted red onions many times but I never tire of their glorious reds, purples and pinks.  Sometimes I see a lorry loaded up and selling them on the side of the road and I'm tempted to stop and take pictures, but I think that many onions might be just a little bit ambitious!

This is mixed media - watercolour with coloured pencil and pastel scribbled on top.

I really liked seeing these- thanks for sharing and thanks for letting us know what you used to create the image.

It's a lovely painting. I look forward to seeing the truck load :)

It was very effectively done. I admire that you can know what mediums will interact the way you want. You have such a creative touch with your work!

very nice! - I love red onions, funny as I've just got some out of the cupboard to use for dinner - we're having fajitas! You may have just inspired me to paint some myself!

Oh, good, it's not just me whom you inspire to go paint the same picture! :-) Lovely onions!

Beautiful. I love the way you captured light and shade on them. I really should try sketching fruit and veggies more, you inspired me.

Beautifully drawn as always. :) I need to cook some of my onions in the house!
