Sketches from Sicily

After a little blogging break here's a couple of sketches from my sketchbook.
The first is a young fisherman preparing his nets, a typical scene in a local village and one of my favourite subjects.

This is part of a church on the island of Lipari, sketched from  my photos.
Time to get back and focus on some painting now I think!

Great as usual!

Love seeing them. The oolors and range of values make the church painting very special.

As always delightful sketches, I like how you are always able to create such a good light and softness to your paintings.

Have a great summer!!!

I would call that church "sketch" a painting! Nice.

Ooh, I'm glad you're back and I like the new paintings! The church steeple especially, since I'm all into architecture these days! I enjoy your work and your way of portraying your subjects with warmth and charm.

Love the textures/colors on the building and they look so great with the rich blue behind.

And the contemplative fisherman is a fine sketch.
