Lost

Lost or missing?  Where do all the odd socks go?
I once  read a book  where all lost items including odd socks went to a parallel world waiting to be found which sounds plausible to me.

Note the use of my bit of faithful hairy string again, I really don't know what I'd do without it!

Yes, the string is perfect again! So is the sock. I think you're right it's a plausable theory indeed. Great illustration and perfect on the topic 'lost'!

I love this painting! And what is the title of the book, by the way?

I do love that hairy string - and the sock. Wish I had a pair like that.

The missing sock! Ah! So great, almost photographic.

I understood it back when I went to the laundromat--but how is it possible to lose socks in one's OWN WASHER and DRYER?! The alternate universe is the only explanation. Love the colors and the "sockness." Nicely limp and fabric-like.

Katherine ...the book was 'There's no place like here' by Cecelia Ahem.

Beautifully illustrated - simple & colourful - love it! If you want to know where all the lost socks go then check out my blog - Phoebe has found the lot.... ;)

I love this - I love the simplicity of it, the way you painted it, and the sly response to the idea of "lost". Er, can I have a bit of that string?

Oh those poor socks where have they all gone? This is sounding quite a woeful tale especially with that lonely sock hanging there on it's own... :(

I love this... of course I'm biased as this string has a guest appearance in one of my drawings.

Yes that bit of string is famous!
Thanks for the comments :)

Missing socks is even worse with kids because they take them of and throw them who knows where and you don't find them again until they've out grown the size. Love your image.
