Peacock Party

oil on stretched canvas (50x70cms)

The Peacock Garden at Warwick Castle (UK) has topiary peacocks and real peacocks too.  The real peacocks weren't in the mood for posing when I visited the castle so I painted my version of a 'meeting' between a real peacock and it's bushy friend.  I don't know what they would be saying to each other, what do you think?

What a great painting - I love the juxtoposition(sp?) between real & topary :)

Maybe Mr. Peacock is thinking of asking it out on a date ;)

What a delightful idea for a painting! It's beautifully done... I love how you rendered the windows in back so well; they form a great backdrop to the garden and peacocks!

Cathy, this painting is absolutely delightful! I adore peacocks! I guess the real peacock is thinking he is more beautiful - he seems to stand proud, as if he had gained self esteem in comparing himself to the less colourful bushy friend! ;-)
