Fluid Reflections
The still water in the fountain reflects perfectly the surrounding buildings like a mirror. That is until a lone pigeon disturbs the water and the reflection becomes a shimmering fluid pattern.
Cindy - The reflection is of Monreale cathedral and a column from the Cloisters. You can see here : http://cathyholtomdustylane.blogspot.com/2012/01/highlight.html Thanks for the comments!
Just had to leave a comment on this one.. And that comment is...FANTASTIC! Such beautiful strong colours whilst still being watery (if you know what I mean). Lovely. Stew. stewcrowther.wordpress.com

Lovely "fluid" watercolors.
I feel like I can put my hand out and make the water ripple a little. Gorgeous painting, Cathy!
Very beautiful Cathy....
I agree...there's a mysteriously real, tactile quality about this lovely little piece. I swear I saw that bird dip his little head down to the water!
Beautiful! peaceful, fresh, spring atmosphere. Watery but warm
Wow, really terrific water! I'm really interested to know what those objects are, reflecting in the shimmery water.
I'm so impressed! Maybe in the next decade, I will tackle reflections.

Beautiful! Love the water.
We were entertained this afternoon by first a robin and then a blackbird splashing in the birdbath
Lovely! Beautiful! I love birds anyway, but with the reflection, that's great! Great job!
