Not very seasonal I know, but here in Sicily it's still fairly warm and sunny (it will probably rain tomorrow!) and autumn comes late.
Up until last week the climbing vine at the front of my house looked like this. I love the mix of colours and the way the sun shines through the leaves in the morning.
This is a chocolate coloured sunflower grown in a pot in the summer, I'd like to fill the whole garden with them!

It is nice to see colourful leaves just as we say goodbye to the last of our last survivors.
Oh, Cathy, these are just luscious!! I love the purples and oranges, and the bright and beautiful sun. Autumn here was just way too short this year . . . it usually is, with summer hanging on tenaciously! I had collected some leaves to paint, but with our misty. cold days now, they seem out of place!
And that sunflower . . . truly a show stopper!!
Pretty set of paintings-- almost makes me forget it's winter!
Gorgeous! We had plenty of fall color and sunny skies in northern California until a couple of days ago. Love the chocolate sunflower.
Such lush colors!
We haven't had rain at all. It has been dry and warm...mind you, outside of the house is a different matter.
Lovely paintings Cathy.
Stew.
Beautiful paintings! And so nice to see color as we in this part of the world face gray winter. Love the format and cropping - are these going to be bookmarks?
I like these warm colours! I also appreciate the proportions you chose for the paintings!
I never grow tired of the autumn colors. Beautiful watercolors here - the brown sunflower is surprising, I don't think I ever saw one - but you made a gorgeous composition with it!
Thank you for the comments!
Shirley - Yes I will use these as bookmarks, although I'm planning some bigger paintings in the same format, these were a sort of test.
Kazumi - I bought the seeds on internet, they're lovely flowers in real life.
Beautiful paintings! I really like these colors too--and the crisp edges.
these are just gorgeous! =) I am so in love with leaves when they start to change colors
