Wine in Cape Town

Cape Town is this month's Virtual Paintout destination.   Here's a vine grove in the Constantia Valley, a beautiful area just outside Cape Town.  There are some thirty wine estates in this area that lies against a backdrop of mountains and apparently a big 'wine tasting' tourist attraction.  I will remember that next time I drink some South African wine, although I admit to being biased towards Sicilian wine!

Pen, watercolour and coloured pencil in my sketchbook.

Mmmm wine, and this picture is nice and brings back memories of visiting all the different vinyards here and sipping under the summer sun (okay, spring come on already, Im running low on my bottle collection)...

Very nice drawing, I like the greens against a soft sky.

I love all those vines going off in the distance. The virtual paintout sounds quite interesting, I really must have a go one of the days. I like wine wherever it is from! ;)

This is stunning - such a delicate touch you have. I wouldn't have thought a subject like this would be interesting, but you've made it not only interesting but quite beautiful.

We're quite fond of a drop of South African wine (ok, if I'm honest, we like most wine!). Lovely drawing!

What a lovely drawing - beautiful.
You know, I keep wanting to have a go at Virtual Paintout but seeing pictures like this make me a little nervous. I'm going to have to do a lot of practice first I think.

Beautiful! It looks so much like home, while it's so far away... I like the tender green of the vines, feels like spring!
