Tying up Loose Ends

Everyday Matters - Something you can tie.
I tried to sketch some different coloured ribbons but it wasn't working, so I went for a small piece of soft rope.
It was sitting on my sketch pad while I was drawing, gently unravelling.

Wonderful art of a piece of material that seems to look insignificant.

Great job! It didn't make me think of tying loose ends... It made me think "At the end of my rope"! Must be the week I've had so far... I love the detail you achieved!

Great sketch Cathy! (one of my favourite things to draw)

Love it Cathy.

Can you send it to me? I'm doing a drawing that has a piece of frayed rope tied to a bar (nothing to do with EDM) and I don't have a good reference.

I first read that as 'I was sitting on my sketch pad ...'! Had to take another look. LOL
I like the simplicity of this. Beautiful. x

You always do such a wonderful job with the details of the things you draw! Your placement of the shadows makes it look like you could just reach in and pick it up! nancy

Wonderful! You have captured all those twists and turns so beautifully. (I drew a piece of rope once and found it really difficult!)

VERY nice piece Cathy. You really did a great job with this one. Subtle colors and really 3D. Nice!
