Everyday Matters - Something huge
This is my 'baby' and he's huge. We've had Jackie for five years now after he appeared early one morning, crying outside our gate. He was only a puppy but his paws were enormous.
We kept him for a while thinking someone would come looking, but nobody ever came. By then we'd grown so fond of him he had to stay!
He's always been fond of this deckchair, what he doesn't realise is that he doesn't fit on it anymore and his legs drape down almost touching the floor.

a truly wonderful piece!! FABulous!
I love your sketch and your story. Jackie had a "huge" amount of luck when he found your gate.
Oh, he's so cute and very nice drawing. He looks like he's a terrier mix? Makes me miss summer and beach : )
Beautiful sketch and how sweet they still look when they are sleeping, even though they are all grown up.
Eh, they look sweet all the time, come to think of it. I love to visit the 'dusty lane'.
How adorable that he still love his deck chair. Wonderful sketch of this handsome fellow.
I love your blog and your work- I am glad to have come across it! Jackie is adorable and we also have a huge dog that thinks she is a lap dog!

What a darling painting!
Jackie, you landed on your paws, you lucky dog :) xx
How cute ! I had a dog that was about 80lbs at 8 months and he loved to sit in my lap so I understand when you say "big baby". I miss him dearly and wish I didn't have to give him away. Thanks for the wonderful memories ! Hope he stays your baby for a long time.
This is fantastic Cathy!!!!!
He's beautiful!
He makes me smile! I've had cats that fit under your jacket when they were babies and think they could still do it when they couldn't even fit on your lap anymore. Well done!
Awww, what a sweet baby! No matter how big they get, they still see themselves as lapdogs. Mine doesn't care how much of her hangs over each side! lol Great sketch and wonderful story about a very lucky dog! nancy
This is just perfect!!!! Mostly the attitude. You caught it perfectly.
Awwww, how could anyone not love this drawing AND this wonderful baby! I had one, too (an abandoned puppy who grew to over 80 lbs. and shared 14 rolicking years with us) What a treasure!
Awe...he's a "wonderful" big baby and you've done such a great job illustrating him!
So cute! The color palette of blue and orange really makes the drawing pop.
Ahhh, what a sweet drawing. Oh how these dogs can win your heart.
Awww, he's adorable! Although, he doesn't seem "huge". But I guess that's a pretty much relative concept anyway. :)
Did you draw this "live"?
Awesome piece Cathy =) He sure looks like a happy and cheerful one ^^ despite lazing on the chair in this one..teeheee... I'd love to see more of him in action somehow. Great piece!
