Bottle of Water

Everyday Matters 297 - Draw a bottle of water
This is a  watercolour, coloured pencil and pen sketch.  I tried to get a bit of colour in the transparent plastic, there were plenty of reflections to use, but the bottle looks slightly squashed to me.  Lets just say someone sat on the bottle!

Tremendous job again, Cathy! I love how your colours look soft but strong and rich enough! The reflections are terrific!

Great angle and tone and shadow. Who would have thought that lying the bottle on its side at such a low angle would make it so interesting !

Actually, I think you've conveyed the squishyness of a plastic bottle very well. Who'd have thought that a bottle of water couold make such an interesting subject?

Looks really good! I get a real feel of the water inside when I look at it so well done.

This looks great, I love the shadows and colour in this. I may even have a go at it myself.

I like it! What color pencils did you use on the bottle?

Katherine - I used Faber Castell violet, indanthrene blue, light ultramarine, a bit of dark indigo and a Lyra rose madder lake, those are the ones I can remember!

I really like this; it really captures the character of a plastic bottle.

You did a fantastic job on the transparency! And you managed to make something beautiful from a simple plastic bottle ^^!

beautiful work on a simple subject... the complexity definitely shows, and how you're able to make a paper to appear like plastic really amazes me ^^

the colors are great. I did this challenge with black pen, and I couldn't imagine how one can draw all these colors and reflection.

Love the intricate folds and crumpled crunches of the plastic bottle!
