Pen and coloured pencil |
Another two pages added to my sketch book for the Sketchbook Project 2011. My theme is 'a face in the crowd'. These two pages depict how we can hide our faces, a balaclava and sunglasses to start with.
Graphite and coloured pencil |
The girl who modelled the sunglasses is actually my beautiful daughter and I quite like this drawing, I'm tempted to keep it! But nooo I'll do another one that I'll like even more!
The next pages will also be hidden faces or masks...I'm on a roll!

LOVE WHAT YOU'VE DONE AND ARE DOING---GREAT IDEA !
Fantastic !
These are just fabulous. Make sure you keep high res copies for your records!!
I think they are awesome! Especially the combination of color pencils and graphite pencils =) The result is stunning really!
Oh, the sketch of your daughter is out of this world. Your sketchbook project is just wonderful.
Your daughter is gorgeous!! The figure in the balaclava is very disturbing - which is a testament to your ability!!
Love the reflections on the sunglasses! That's the inspired difference between just a drawing and a piece of art.
Aaah, wonderful, simply wonderful (am I repeating myself here?!)!! The details, like the knitting of the balaclava and the reflections in the sunglasses... <3
When you draw with graphite, do you use some kind of fixative?
Wow, these two drawings are fantastic! Great ideas, and beautifully done. Neat details, and the girl with the glasses is gorgeous (beautiful girl, colors, lines ^^)
You certainly are on a roll! Great sketches.
Oh, Fantastic!! Love the one of your daughter; she is so pretty!
Great ideas for a face in the crowd.
Like Raena I like the one of your daughter. The colour in her glasses is fab!
Beautiful images, great idea Cathy....and very beautiful daughter!
Thanks for your response (and nice comment) on my blog! That's what I'm thinking at the moment, too (as I'm using pencil and colored pencils and the paper is rather smooth): will it "survive" the project (and all the handling)? But then, I've got no idea how many people actually will look at the individual books.
What a beautiful model. She is not just another face in a crowd, but a head-turner.
High-quality work here. The first one scared me a bit when I first opened this page. :) Looking forward to more faces.
Your sketchbook is becoming more and more interesting! I'm looking forward to seeing the next drawings!
What an amazing book this one is going to be.
Wow!!!! Love both of them!
Original ideas and fantastic drawings are making an interesting sketchbook, Cathy! Congratularions :D
This will definitely be one of the books that gets checked out over and over again - these are just terrific! nancy
