When I recently went to The Botanical gardens I stood in front of this tree admiring it's twisted roots, then I noticed how many faces and animals there were hidden in the knarled trunk and roots. The more you look , the more you see. I tried to reproduce the same effect in my sketch book, although I couldn't get them all, the pattern of the roots was so complicated!
How many can you see?

This reminds me of a lion's head in a rockface in Corfu which I sae on holiday a few years ago. As ever, a beautiful drawing!
I think you captured just enough in this sketch. You really did an amazing job!
Wow - that's clever - like a double dose of imagination. The body of the tree trunk is perfect in colour and texture even without that wonderful addition!
Fabulous Cathy
Wow very interesting tree and Very Well Done!!
How very strange indeed! I see a few...like monkey, camel, hippo... sort of I guess, but I totally love the drawing ^^ and it nails the challenge spot on!
Yes Alex there's a monkey and a hippo (sort of)..I didn't see the camel, but then it's all in what you imagine?
There's a lion, a snake and a feline (sort of) in there too!
Stop, stop, I can't keep up! LOL I miss a few posts and I feel very out of touch....
What an interesting subject! Love the color blending as well. Hmmm... I see a fat old gorilla sitting down with a brooding look, holding something, with two Steer skulls around his feet, and it looks like the trees have arms ready to surround the gorilla with.
I love trees like this! I'm always pointing out the faces and animals to everyone around me; they probably think I'm being childish! Thank you for drawing it for us!
I think he lives there and comes out at night. I have also seen the little folks in the knots in my trees, so you are not the only one that is crazy.
Did I forget the word verification or something? My comment isn't here. Anyway - I said that I often see little folks in trees so you aren't the only one who is crazy. I came back to tell you that I forgot to say that the drawing is wonderful and the tree just shimmers with your color!
I like Dan's comment above, I see lost of little folk in trees too. Wonderful drawing and great subject :)
Ha ha there are a lot of us 'funny' folk about then!
I love trees and this one is especially terrific. Thanks for sharing this.
I love this - I'm glad it's not just me who sees these things!! I showed your wonderful drawing of my tree to some friends today - they thought it was fabulous!
This is truly beautiful!
Looks so fascinating... it makes me think of a spellbound tree, inhabited by many strange creatures... the silvery surface of the tree seems to confirm this feeling! Beautiful!
This is great. My daughter has taught her kids to look for these surprises. Her husband can't see the man in the moon (or the rabbit pounding mochi if you are Japanese). I see things in all these things too. I even look for them because it's just fun!
What fun! This is a wonderful drawing! Glad I'm not the only one seeing little folk in trees either :-)
I love your use of color, and of course the faces. Just wonderful! :-)
